Goffin advances to second round of Wimbledon

Belgian David Goffin advanced to the second round of Wimbledon by defeating qualifier Radu Albot 6-2, 6-2, 7-6 (5) at the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club in London on Tuesday.
Goffin, a former world No 7 who is currently ranked No 58, will play the winner of the match between Japanese Taro Daniel and Argentinian Sebastian Baez, the No 31 seed, in the second round.
Goffin’s best result at Wimbledon has been a quarter-final appearance in 2019. He also reached the fourth round on two other occasions.
