American Steve Johnson advanced to the second round of Wimbledon when Bulgarian Grigor Dimitrov, the No 18 seed, retired at the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club in London on Tuesday.
Johnson, ranked No 93, led 4-6, 5-2 when Dimitrov, ranked No 21, pulled out having received some treatment during a medical time-out. It appeared that he had sustained an injury during his service motion.
