Collins highest women’s seed to fall on first day of Wimbledon as Bouzkova reaches second round

Czech Marie Bouzkova reached the second round of Wimbledon by edging out American Danielle Collins, the No 7 seed, 5-7, 6-4, 6-4 at the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club in London on Monday evening.
Australian Open finalist Collins had not played any grass court tournaments as a Wimbledon warm-up, and had not been in competitive action since losing in the Roland-Garros second round.
Bouzkova, ranked No 66, will face American Ann Li next.
