Shelton signs up for Bastide Médical UTS Nîmes, completes eight-man field

The 2024 Frankfurt champion will undertake his third UTS tour duty at the historic Arènes de Nîmes in April this year

Ben Shelton ‘The Mountain‘ has signed up for the 2025 Bastide Médical UTS Nîmes—this year’s second UTS event—scheduled to be held at Arènes de Nîmes on April 4-5.

Shelton’s confirmation means the tournament’s eight-man field is set, with the likes of Ugo Humbert ‘The Commander’, Gael Monfils ‘La Monf’, Casper Ruud ‘The Ice Man’, Andrey Rublev ‘Rublo’, Taylor Fritz ‘The Hotshot’, Holger Rune ‘The Viking’ and Alex de Minaur ‘The Demon’ having already raised their hands for the title.

This will notably be the American’s third time at a UTS event. He made his debut in Los Angeles in 2023 and reached the semi-finals, losing 3-1 to Wu Yibing ‘The Great Wall’. In 2024, he stepped on the UTS court again in Frankfurt and took the Zeus trophy home by defeating Humbert in the final.

Shelton has already made a solid start to the 2025 season as he produced a run to the Australian Open semi-finals in January to close in on the ATP top 10. He is currently ranked 14th in the world.
