Kokkinakis reaches UTS Frankfurt Final Four with sudden-death win over Shapovalov
The debutant’s amazing run in Frankfurt continued
Thanasi Kokkinakis (UTS)
Thanasi “Kokki” Kokkinakis came from behind to get another sudden-death UTS win of the day, defeating Denis Shapovalov 11-15, 16-7, 6-20, 13-11, 3-1 – and sealing his place in the last four.
It is his third victory of the weekend thus far – and it means that Shapo now needs Dominic Thiem to win against Ugo Humbert in the last match of the day if he is to have any chance of reaching the Final Four himself.
The Dominator is, however, already out of the competition.
