De Minaur and Paire complete field for Oslo UTS event
The UTS organisers have unveiled the groups for the Oslo leg in February, as well as the final two players, Alex de Minaur and Benoit Paire.
The cast is complete! On Thursday, the UTS Tour organisers unveiled the last two players who will be taking part in the first leg of the 2024 event, which will be held in Oslo, Norway. They are Alex de Minaur and Benoit Paire.
The 24-year-old Australian is a great catch for the UTS Tour. The 12th-ranked player in the world has just beaten world No 1 Novak Djokovic in the United Cup. He also has seven titles to his name.
This will be De Minaur’s second appearance in the UTS. He won the third edition in Antwerp in 2020, winning all three of his matches and beating Richard Gasquet in the final. The Australian’s nickname, as usual, will be ‘The Demon’.
Benoit Paire is no stranger to the competition. In 2023, the Frenchman took part in every stage: Los Angeles, Frankfurt and in the Grand Final in London. He reached the semi-finals in Germany, but lost in the group stages at the other two events.
Ruud and Rune face off in the GROUP
The two men complete a stellar line-up for UTS Oslo. They join Casper Ruud, Holger Rune, Andrey Rublev, Dominic Thiem, Alexander Bublik and Gaël Monfils! The tournament will take place from February 9 to 11, 2024, at Oslo’s Telenor Arena.
The organisers have also unveiled the groups for this first stage of the UTS Tour 2024. Group A includes Holger “The Viking” Rune, Casper “The Ice Man” Ruud, Alexander “The Bublik Enemy” Bublik and Dominic “Thieminho” Thiem.
Group B will include Andrey ‘Rublo’ Rublev, Alex ‘The Demon’ de Minaur, Gaël ‘La Monf’ Monfils and Benoit ‘The Rebel’ Paire. The top two players in each group will qualify for the Final 4.
