David ‘The Wall’ Goffin replaces Thanasi Kokkinakis at UTS Guadalajara
The fast-pace Aussie will sit out of the first UTS event of 2025, due to injury
Thanasi Kokkinakis has withdrawn from the upcoming UTS event in Guadalajara, which will take place at the Centro Panamericano de tenis between February 14 and 16.
David Goffin – nicknamed ‘The Wall’ at UTS – replaces ‘Kokki’ in Guadalajara.
The Australian was due to take part in UTS’s Latin American debut, but has had to pull out due to injury.
The Australian has not played since his third round loss to Jack Draper.
Kokkinakis’ replacement Goffin will be playing his second UTS event after taking part in the very first edition back in 2020, where he reached the semi-finals in Biot.
The Belgian, former world No 7, reached the final of the ATP Finals in 2017 after defeating Nadal in Federer. Last year, he reached the quarter-finals in Shanghai Masters 1000 after defeating Alexander Zverev, the current world No 2.
Tickets for the tournament are available here.
