Frenchman Ugo Humbert produced a brilliant performance om Sunday as he beat Italy’s Lorenzo Musetti 11-16, 16-10, 15-13, 15-13 to reach the final of UTS Frankfurt.

“The Commander” dropped the first quarter to Musetti, “The Illusionist”, who had won all three of his matches this week, but roared back with some outstanding shot-making to reach a UTS final for the first time.

Humbert will take on another left-hander in Ben Shelton “The Mountain” in the final later on Sunday.

“It was a big match, big level, super happy to be in the final. I was really good at the end of the (last) quarter so super happy. Every point I tried to be 100 percent focused. That’s the game, I think.”

Musetti was disappointed not to have carried over his outstanding form of the first two days.

“I did not use the cards very well, won just once,” he said. “That was the key. Hugo played a very high level and performance. I was enjoying every minute of it. It is an exhibition but there was a lot of competition within the matches so I am a little bit upset at the moment.”
