Benoit ‘The Rebel’ Paire replaces Kyrgios in UTS Los Angeles
The Frenchman is coming off a second ATP Challenger title in Italy last week
France’s Benoit Paire, aka The Rebel, will replace Australia’s Nick ‘The King’ Kyrgios in the UTS Los Angeles event later this week.
Kyrgios announced his withdrawal from the event yesterday due to the same wrist injury that kept him away from Wimbledon although the Australian still plans to attend the event.
Paire, who was already part of the UTS line-up for Frankfurt later this year, is a former top 20 player and currently ranked No 131 in the world.
The 34-year-old won the ATP Challenger in San Benedetto Del Tronto, Italy last week, his second title on the Challenger circuit in 2023.
Paire is a crowd favourite wherever he plays thanks to his electrifying shot making and UTS fans in Los Angeles will surely be treated to more of the same in the coming days.
