US Open: Zverev through to the last 16

German Alexander Zverev, the No 4 seed, reached the last 16 of the US Open by winning against Argentinian Tomas Martin Etcheverry 5-7, 7-5, 6-1, 6-3 at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in New York on Saturday night.
Zverev, ranked No 4, will play American Brandon Nakashima next.
The German defeated lucky loser Maximilian Marterer (6-2, 6-7 (5), 6-3, 6-2) and French wildcard Alexandre Muller (6-4, 7-6 (5), 6-1) earlier in the tournament.
In the previous rounds of the US Open, Etcheverry, ranked No 33, won against Frenchman Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard (6-4, 6-2, 6-3) and No 29 seed Francisco Cerundolo (6-3, 4-6, 6-4, 1-6, 6-3).
