US Open: Thompson cruises against Lestienne, rolls into second round

World No 32 Jordan Thompson moved into the second round of the US Open by defeating Frenchman Constant Lestienne 6-1, 6-3, 6-2 at the US Open on Tuesday evening.

Thompson, ranked No 32, will play the winner of the match between Kazakh qualifier Timofey Skatov and Pole Hubert Hurkacz, the No 7 seed, next.
