US Open: Shnaider moves into third round – best result at a hard court major
Diana Shnaider won against Clara Tauson 6-4, 6-4 on Thursday and will play the winner of the match between Caroline Dolehide and Sara Errani in the next round

Russian Diana Shnaider, the No 18 seed, defeated Dane Clara Tauson 6-4, 6-4 to advance to the third round of the US Open on Thursday.
Shnaider, ranked No 18, will face the winner of the match between American Caroline Dolehide and Italian Sara Errani next.
In the previous round, the 20-year-old Russian won against Argentinian Nadia Podoroska (6-0, 6-1).
Tauson, ranked No 67, beat Slovak Anna Karolina Schmiedlova (1-6, 7-6 (5), 6-2) during the first round.
