US Open: Putintseva books spot in second round, defeating seed No 24 Anisimova

Kazakh Yulia Putintseva advanced to the second round of the US Open by beating American Amanda Anisimova, the No 24 seed, 6-3, 6-3 at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in New York City on Tuesday.
Putintseva, ranked No 38, will face the winner of the match between American wildcard Sofia Kenin and German Jule Niemeier next.
Amanda Anisimova called for a medical time-out for dizziness.
