US Open: 16th seeded American Korda comes up short against Machac in second round

Tomas Machac won against American Sebastian Korda, the No 16 seed, 6-4, 6-2, 6-4 to move into the third round of the US Open on Thursday.

Machac, ranked No 39, will face the winner of the match between Belgian David Goffin and Frenchman Adrian Mannarino next.

In the previous round of the US Open, Tomas Machac beat Italian Fabio Fognini (7-5, 6-1, 6-3).

Korda, ranked No 16, defeated Frenchman Corentin Moutet (7-6 (3), 6-1, 6-0) in the previous round of the US Open.
