US Open: Kudermetova dismantles Galfi, Jabeur next into last 16

Russian Veronika Kudermetova, the No 18 seed, won against Hungarian Dalma Galfi 6-2, 6-0 to advance to the last 16 of the US Open at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in New York City on Friday.
Kudermetova, ranked No 18, will play Tunisian Ons Jabeur, the No 5 seed, next. Jabeur defeated Shelby Rogers (31) 4-6, 6-4, 6-3
The Russian defeated Croat Donna Vekic (7-5, 6-3) and Belgian Maryna Zanevska (6-2, 6-3) earlier in the tournament. In the previous rounds, Galfi, ranked No 91, beat Spaniard Nuria Parrizas Diaz (6-4, 6-3) and Harriet Dart (6-4, 6-0).
