US Open: Kontaveit moves into second round; faces Serena Williams next
Anett Kontaveit won against Jaqueline Cristian 6-3, 6-0 on Monday and will play the winner of the match between Montenegrin Danka Kovinic and American Serena Williams in the next round
Estonian Anett Kontaveit, the second seed, moved into the second round of the US Open by defeating Romanian Jaqueline Cristian 6-3, 6-0 at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in New York City on Monday.
Kontaveit, ranked No 2, will face Serena Williams after the American defeated Montenegrin Danka Kovinic in straight sets in the evening session match on Arthur Ashe Stadium.
