Khachanov drops first set against Kudla but comes back to make second round

Russian Karen Khachanov, the No 27 seed, advanced to the second round of the US Open by winning against American Denis Kudla 3-6, 6-1, 6-2, 6-2 at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in New York City on Monday.

Khachanov, ranked No 31, will face the winner of the match between Slovak Alex Molcan and Brazilian Thiago Monteiro next.
