US Open: Galfi beats Dart and books spot in third round
Dalma Galfi defeated Harriet Dart 6-4, 6-0 on Wednesday and will face Russian Veronika Kudermetova, the No 18 seed, in the next round
Hungarian Dalma Galfi won against Harriet Dart 6-4, 6-0 to reach the third round of the US Open at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in New York City on Wednesday.
Galfi, ranked No 91, will face Russian Veronika Kudermetova, the No 18 seed, next.
Ahead of her victory, the Hungarian defeated Spaniard Nuria Parrizas Diaz (6-4, 6-3).
Dart, ranked No 88, won against Russian Daria Kasatkina, the No 10 seed (7-6 (8), 1-6, 6-3) in the previous round of the Flushing Meadows. She would have taken over Emma Raducanu, who lost in the first round on Tuesday, as British n°1 with a win today.
