US Open: Fils wins his first Grand Slam match against seeded Griekspoor, 7-5 in the fifith

Frenchman Arthur Fils defeated Dutchman Tallon Griekspoor, the No 24 seed, 4-6, 6-3, 5-7, 6-4, 7-5 to advance to the second round of the US Open at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in New York on Tuesday evening.

Fils, aged 19 and ranked No 48, won his first match in a Grand Slam match. He will face Italian Matteo Arnaldi next.
