Alert – US Open: Draper reaches semi-final

No 25 seed Jack Draper beat Australian Alex De Minaur, the No 10 seed, 6-3, 7-5, 6-2 to move into the semi-finals of the US Open on Wednesday.

Draper, ranked No 25, will play the winner of the match between Italian Jannik Sinner, the top seed, and Russian Daniil Medvedev, the No 5 seed, next.

Jack Draper won against Chinese Zhizhen Zhang (6-3, 6-0, 4-0 ret.), Argentinian Facundo Diaz Acosta (6-4, 6-2, 6-2), Dutchman Botic van de Zandschulp (6-3, 6-4, 6-2) and Tomas Machac (6-3, 6-1, 6-2) earlier in the tournament.

In the previous rounds of the US Open, De Minaur, ranked No 10, defeated American Marcos Giron (6-3, 6-4, 5-7, 6-4), Finnish qualifier Otto Virtanen (7-5, 6-1, 7-6 (3)), Daniel Evans (6-3, 6-7 (4), 6-0, 6-0) and Jordan Thompson (6-0, 3-6, 6-3, 7-5).
