US Open: Dimitrov cruises past Griekspoor to reach last 16

Bulgarian Grigor Dimitrov, the No 9 seed, moved into the last 16 of the US Open by beating Dutchman Tallon Griekspoor 6-3, 6-3, 6-1 at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center.

Dimitrov, ranked No 9, will play Russian Andrey Rublev, the No 6 seed, next.

Ahead of his victory, the 33-year-old Bulgarian beat French qualifier Kyrian Jacquet (6-3, 6-4, 6-2) and Australian Rinky Hijikata (6-1, 6-1, 7-6 (4)).

Griekspoor, ranked No 40, defeated Indian Sumit Nagal (6-1, 6-3, 7-6 (6)) and Argentinian Sebastian Baez, the No 21 seed (6-1, 2-0 ret.) earlier in the tournament.
