Lauren Davis hits a forehand
American Lauren Davis edged out Russian Ekaterina Alexandrova, the No 28 seed, 0-6, 6-4, 7-6 (5) to move into the third round of the US Open at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in New York City on Thursday.
Davis, ranked No 105, will play Iga Swiatek, who defeated Sloane Stephens at the same time.
