Cincinnati champion Coric needs five sets against qualifier Couacaud to advance to second round
Borna Coric won against Enzo Couacaud 6-2, 7-6 (5), 3-6, 4-6, 7-5 on Tuesday and will play American Jenson Brooksby in the next round

Croat Borna Coric, the No 25 seed and Cincinnato champion, advanced to the second round of the US Open by winning against French qualifier Enzo Couacaud 6-2, 7-6 (5), 3-6, 4-6, 7-5 at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in New York City on Tuesday.
Coric didn’t have to save any match point but his opponent lead 5-3 in the fifth set before losing four games in a row.
Coric, ranked No 29, will face American Jenson Brooksby next.
