US Open: Comesana scores biggest win of career over Humbert to reach third round

Argentinian Francisco Comesana reached the third round of the US Open by edging out Frenchman Ugo Humbert, the No 17 seed, 5-7, 6-4, 6-4, 6-4.

Comesana, ranked No 108, will face the winner of the match between Italian Matteo Berrettini and American Taylor Fritz, the No 12 seed, next.

The Argentinian defeated Swiss Dominic Stricker (4-6, 6-3, 7-6 (4), 6-3) in the previous round of the US Open.

In the previous round of the US Open, Humbert, ranked No 17, won against Brazilian Thiago Monteiro (6-3, 6-4, 6-4).
