Former champion Cilic eases through to third round at US Open
The 2014 champion was too good for Albert Ramos-Vinolas and now plays Britain’s Dan Evans

Croat Marin Čilić, the No 15 seed, won against Spaniard Albert Ramos-Vinolas 6-3, 7-6 (4), 6-3 to advance to the third round of the US Open at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in New York City on Thursday.
Čilić, ranked No 17, will play the winner of the match between Australian James Duckworth and No 20 seed Daniel Evans next.
The 33-year-old Croat beat German qualifier Maximilian Marterer (6-3, 6-2, 7-5) in the previous round. Ramos-Vinolas, ranked No 42, defeated Slovak qualifier Norbert Gombos (6-3, 6-4, 7-5).
