The 2024 US Open was just as grand a tennis event as always. Aryna Sabalenka and Jannik Sinner kept the level from this year’s Australian Open and took home the singles titles. Sinner (UTR 16.20) won over Taylor Fritz (UTR 15.90) in the final, while Sabalenka (UTR 12.92) defeated Jessica Pegula (UTR 12.87). In men’s doubles, it was Rajeev Ram and Joe Salisbury, while it was Barbora Krejcikova and Katerina Siniakova who took home the women’s doubles title.

It was indeed the young talents that took the stage and filled the void left by some of the retired stars. Stars like Serena Williams, Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal have all retired recently. Djokovic is still in the game but he’s slowly getting closer to retirement. So, it is young stars like Iga Swiatek, Aryna Sabalenka, Coco Gaff and Jannik Sinner, Carlos Alcaraz and Alexander Zverev that are running the game of elite tennis at the moment.

Anyone following tennis at the top level at the moment has noticed the generation shift after some of the major older stars have retired. When betting on tennis today, it is essential to get to know these talented, new players. Grand Slams are by far some of the most interesting tournaments when you’re looking to bet and you’ll be sure to find plenty of odds on all the matches. It’s also at the major tournaments when offers like a Bet365 betting promotion could be something to look into. If you’re looking to get these tennis stars before the next Grand Slam, you have plenty of time until January 2025 when the Australian Open will take place.

Singles winners – Jannik Sinner and Aryna Sabalenka

Let’s start by taking a look at the two singles winners. The 23-year-old Italian Jannik Sinner is now a two-time Grand Slam Champion after having won two titles this year, US Open and the Australian Open. When looking at the new generation of players, this is one to keep an eye out for. He’s only 23 and already the fifth player with more than 22 Grand Slam wins in one season. Sabalenka is a 26-year-old Belarusian player who has three Grand Slam singles titles and two Grand Slam doubles titles with her former doubles partner Elise Mertens. In total, she’s won a combined 23 career titles and right now she’s ranked No 1 in singles in the world. There’s no question that we’re going to see much more of these two singles winners at next year’s Grand Slam tournaments.

One of the more surprising new talents that made it to the men’s semi-final is Jack Draper. Draper is the most recently added player in the ATP Top 20 after starting 2024 barely inside the Top 60. He’s had a great year that bumped him up the ranks, so if he continues like this, he’s going to climb the ladder even further. Another new star in men’s tennis is Alexei Popyrin from Australia. In this US Open, he was seeded for the first time and truly made an impression by playing some great tennis, among others against legendary Djokovic.

Preparing for next year’s Grand Slam tournaments

The 2024 US Open fell right in line with the three previous Slams of the year. It was indeed the young talent and the rising new stars that stole all the attention — and not to mention the titles. When looking to prepare for next year, it’s all about studying these players at the very top. There’s a fierce competition between the best of the best in the top 10 in both men’s and women’s tennis. Make sure to keep track of the UTR ratings and of course the young star’s matches outside the Grand Slam. In January alone, there are four Australian tournaments that you can tune in on. So, make sure to follow major stars like Alcaraz, Sinner, Djokovic, Swiatek, Gauff and Sabalenka but don’t forget all the other upcoming players who may otherwise take you by surprise in the 2025 tennis season.
