Alexander Zverev booked his spot in the Roland-Garros quarter-finals with a 6-1, 6-4, 6-3 beatdown of Grigor Dimitrov on Monday. It was a short night session on Court Philippe Chatrier, as Zverev cruised in two hours and 17 minutes.

The 26-year-old German saved 14 of 16 break points during his fourth-round victory.

Zverev is back in the last eight, where last year he defeated Carlos Alcaraz before suffering a nasty ankle injury against Rafael Nadal in the semis. He will face Tomas Martin Etcheverry on Wednesday.

Ahead of his victory, the former world No. 2 defeated South African Lloyd Harris (7-6 (6), 7-6, 6-1), Slovak Alex Molcan (6-4, 6-2, 6-1) and American Frances Tiafoe, the No 12 seed (3-6, 7-6 (3), 6-1, 7-6 (5)).

Dimitrov, ranked No 29, previously beat Kazakh qualifier Timofey Skatov (6-0, 6-3, 6-2), Finn Emil Ruusuvuori (7-6 (4), 6-3, 6-4) and German Daniel Altmaier (6-4, 6-3, 6-1).
