Roland-Garros: Zhang beats Tirante to move into third round

Chinese Zhizhen Zhang won against Argentinian Thiago Agustin Tirante 7-6 (3), 6-3, 6-4 to move into the third round.

Zhang, ranked No 71, will face Norwegian Casper Ruud, the No 4 seed, next.

The Chinese benefited from the abandonment of Serb Dusan Lajovic (6-1, 4-1) ahead of his victory.

In the previous round, Tirante, ranked No 153, edged out Dutchman Botic van de Zandschulp, the No 25 seed (6-2, 4-6, 6-3, 6-4).
