Chinese Yafan Wang advanced to the second round of Roland-Garros by beating Russian Maria Timofeeva 6-3, 6-3 at Roland-Garros in Paris on Sunday.
The 30-year-old Wang is through to the second round in Paris for the first time in three main draw appearances.
Wang, ranked No 68, will play the winner of the match between Australian wildcard Ajla Tomljanovic and Ukrainian Dayana Yastremska, the No 30 seed, next.
