Frenchman Luca Van Assche advanced to the second round of Roland-Garros by winning against Italian Marco Cecchinato 6-1, 6-1, 6-3 at Stade Roland-Garros in Paris on Monday evening.
Van Assche, ranked No 82, will face Spaniard Alejandro Davidovich Fokina, the No 29 seed, next.
