Roland-Garros: Major upset as Tsurenko knocks out former champion Krejcikova for place in second round
Lesia Tsurenko won against Barbora Krejcikova 6-2, 6-4 on Tuesday. She’ll face the winner of the match between Chinese Lin Zhu and American Lauren Davis in the next round

Shockwaves have been sent through the women’s draw in Paris, as Ukrainian world No. 66 Lesia Tsurenko advanced to the second round of Roland-Garros by defeating Czech Barbora Krejcikova, the 13th seed, 6-2, 6-4.
Despite being the heavy underdog going into the match, it was a comfortable win for Tsurenko, who will play the winner of the match between Chinese Lin Zhu and American Lauren Davis next.
