Greek Stefanos Tsitsipas, the No 5 seed, beat Argentinian Diego Schwartzman 6-2, 6-2, 6-3 to move into the last 16 of Roland-Garros at Stade Roland-Garros in Paris on Friday.

Tsitsipas has now won all three of his matches on clay against Schwartzman.

With this victory, he moves into the fourth round at Roland-Garros for the fifth year on the bounce.

Tsitsipas, ranked No 5, will face Austrian qualifier Sebastian Ofner next.

Ahead of his victory, the Greek edged out Czech Jiri Vesely (7-5, 6-3, 4-6, 7-6 (7)) and won against Spaniard Roberto Carballes Baena (6-3, 7-6 (4), 6-2).

Schwartzman, ranked No 95, overturned the situation against Spaniard Bernabe Zapata Miralles, the No 32 seed (1-6, 6-7 (5), 6-2, 6-0, 6-4) and defeated Portuguese Nuno Borges (7-6 (3), 6-4, 6-3) earlier in the tournament.

Schwartzman’s last Top 5 win on clay was three years ago – against then-world No 3 Dominic Thiem in the quarter-final at this tournament.

Schwartzman, nicknamed ‘El Peque’, will feature in UTS, taking place in LA next month.
