Roland-Garros: Stephens wins 12 games in a row against Teichmann to book spot in quarter-finals

American Sloane Stephens reached the last eight of Roland-Garros by winning against Swiss Jil Teichmann, the No 23 seed, 6-2, 6-0 at Stade Roland-Garros in Paris on Sunday evening.
Stephens, ranked No 64, will face American Coco Gauff, the No 18 seed, next.
The American defeated German qualifier Jule Niemeier (5-7, 6-4, 6-2), Romanian Sorana Cirstea, the No 26 seed (3-6, 6-2, 6-0) and Frenchwoman Diane Parry (6-2, 6-3) in the previous rounds of the French Open, while Teichmann, ranked No 24, beat American Bernarda Pera (6-2, 6-1), Serb qualifier Olga Danilovic (6-4, 6-1) and Belarusian Victoria Azarenka, the No 15 seed (4-6, 7-5, 7-6 [5]).
