Canadian Denis Shapovalov edged out American Frances Tiafoe, the No 25 seed, 6-7 (4), 6-4, 6-2, 6-4 to move into the third round of Roland-Garros at Roland-Garros in Paris on Thursday.
Shapovalov, ranked No 118, will face Pole Hubert Hurkacz, the No 8 seed, next.
The Canadian defeated Frenchman Luca Van Assche (6-3, 6-4, 6-4) in the previous round of the Roland-Garros 2024.
In the first round of the Roland-Garros 2024, Tiafoe, ranked No 26, won against Italian qualifier Mattia Bellucci (6-3, 3-6, 6-7 (6), 6-4, 6-4).
