Fourth seed Elena Rybakina kicked off her Roland-Garros campaign in controlled fashion, nullifying the threat of rising teenage talent Brenda Fruhvirtova in straight sets 6-4, 6-2 to reach the second round.
Rybakina, who is looking to win the second Grand Slam title of her career, will play another Czech in Linda Noskova next.
