Roland-Garros: Ruud advances to third round for fifth year in a row
Casper Ruud edged out Giulio Zeppieri 6-3, 6-2, 4-6, 7-5 on Thursday and will face the winner of the match between Argentinian Thiago Agustin Tirante and Chinese Zhizhen Zhang in the next round

Norwegian Casper Ruud, the No 4 seed, moved into the third round of Roland-Garros by edging out Italian qualifier Giulio Zeppieri 6-3, 6-2, 4-6, 7-5 at Stade Roland-Garros in Paris on Thursday.
It was Ruud’s 83rd win on clay since 2020 – the most on the ATP Tour.
Ruud, ranked No 4, will face the winner of the match between Argentinian Thiago Agustin Tirante and Chinese Zhizhen Zhang next.
In the previous round, the Norwegian beat Swede qualifier Elias Ymer (6-4, 6-3, 6-2).
Zeppieri, ranked No 129, won against Kazakh Alexander Bublik (6-0, 4-6, 4-6, 6-3, 7-5) in the previous round.
