Dutchwoman Arantxa Rus beat former world No 1 Angelique Kerber 6-4, 6-3 to move into the second round of Roland-Garros at Roland-Garros in Paris on Tuesday.
Rus, ranked No 50, will face Kazakh Elena Rybakina, the No 4 seed, next.
