Roland-Garros: Rune cruises into last 16

Dane Holger Rune, the No 6 seed, moved into the last 16 of Roland-Garros by defeating Argentinian qualifier Genaro Alberto Olivieri 6-4, 6-1, 6-3 in Paris on Saturday.

Rune, ranked No 6, will play the winner of the match between Argentinian Francisco Cerundolo, the No 23 seed, and American Taylor Fritz, the No 9 seed, next.

The 20-year-old Dane had not played since his win against American Christopher Eubanks (6-4, 3-6, 7-6 (2), 6-2) at the first. Frenchman Gael Monfils withdrew without their clash.

Olivieri, ranked No 231, beat French wildcard Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard (7-6 (3), 4-6, 4-6, 7-5, 6-1) and edged out Italian qualifier Andrea Vavassori (7-6 (7), 3-6, 6-4, 7-6 (3)).
