Roland-Garros: Rublev needs four sets to reach second round
The Russian will meet Spaniard Pedro Martinez or Argentinian Thiago Agustin Tirante in the next round

Russian Andrey Rublev, the No 6 seed, moved into the second round of Roland-Garros by edging out Japanese Taro Daniel 6-2, 6-7 (3), 6-3, 7-5 at Roland-Garros in Paris on Sunday.
The win, which took 3 hours and 11 minutes, was the Russian’s11th straight first-round win in Grand Slam tournaments. The last time Rublev lost in the opening round at a Major was here in Paris in 2021.
Rublev, ranked No 6 and winner of the Madrid Masters earlier this month, will play the winner of the match between Spaniard Pedro Martinez and Argentinian Thiago Agustin Tirante next.
