Russian Anastasia Potapova moved into the last 16 of Roland-Garros by edging out Chinese Xinyu Wang 7-5, 6-7 (6), 6-4 in Paris.
Potapova, ranked No 41, will play Pole Iga Swiatek, the top seed, next.
Earlier in the tournament, the Russian defeated Kamilla Rakhimova (6-2, 6-3) and Swiss Viktorija Golubic (6-2, 6-2).
Wang, ranked No 37, edged out German qualifier Jule Niemeier (0-6, 6-2, 6-4) and won against Bulgarian Viktoriya Tomova (7-5, 5-7, 6-1) in the previous rounds.
