Crowd, underarm serves help Moutet in Paris
“It’s one of the best feeling I had on a tennis court for sure,” Moutet shared in his post-match comments. “I had to stay focused because he’s had two hard matches, the crowd was really good. At the beginning I played well but he played amazing.”
“It helps (the crowd) in difficult moments.”
Across the two hour, 47 minute clash, Moutet his a total of nine underarm serves.
“My first goal is not to make people crazy, its to play my game,” the Frenchman reflected.
“When I see the opponent far from the line sometimes it’s an option. I use my skills, my qualities, I lost only one point, it’s a good percentage. It’s a shot we can use so if I can use at some point I’ll use it.”
Ahead of his victory, the Frenchman beat Chilean Nicolas Jarry, the No 16 seed (6-2, 6-1, 3-6, 6-0) and Kazakh Alexander Shevchenko (6-4, 6-2, 0-6, 6-3).
