Roland-Garros: 28th seed Mertens advances to second round for seventh year in a row
The Belgian will play the winner of the match between American Catherine McNally and Romanian Ana Bogdan in the next round

Belgian Elise Mertens, the No 28 seed, beat Slovak lucky loser Viktoria Hruncakova 6-1, 6-4 to reach the second round of Roland-Garros in Paris on Sunday.
This was the seventh year in a row that Mertens is through to the second round in Paris. The Belgian has reached at least the third round at the French Open in the last six editions.
Mertens, ranked No 28, will face the winner of the match between American Caty McNally and Romanian Ana Bogdan next.
