Roland-Garros: Korda sets up Alcaraz showdown in third round

American Sebastian Korda, the No 27 seed, moved into the third round of Roland-Garros by winning against SoonWoo Kwon 6-4, 6-4, 1-6, 6-3 at Roland-Garros in Paris on Thursday.

This is the third time in five main draw appearances that the American has reached at least the round of 32 in Paris.

Korda, ranked No 28, will play Spaniard Carlos Alcaraz, the No 3 seed, next.

Alcaraz leads the head-to-head between the pair 3-1, with both players winning once each on clay.

In the previous round of the tournament, the American beat French wildcard Harold Mayot (6-2, 7-6 (4), 6-4).

Kwon, ranked No 494, won against Finn Emil Ruusuvuori (6-3, 6-4, 6-3) during the first round of the Roland-Garros 2024.
