Roland-Garros: Korda wins first match since January to reach second round

No 24 seed Sebastian Korda reached the second round of Roland-Garros by winning against Mackenzie McDonald 6-4, 7-5, 6-4 in Paris on Sunday.

This was the young American’s first win on the tour since the Australian Open in January, where he reached the quarter-finals. Since then, Korda struggled with a wrist injury which kept him off the four for three months. He only returned in the end of April but lost his opening matches in Madrid and Rome.

Korda, who reached the fourth round here in Paris on his debut in 2020 and currently ranked No 29, will face Austrian qualifier Sebastian Ofner next.
