American Madison Keys, the No 14 seed, advanced to the second round of Roland-Garros by beating Mexican Renata Zarazua 6-3, 6-2 in Paris.
Keys, ranked No 12, will face the winner of the match between Chinese Yue Yuan and Egyptian Mayar Sherif next.
