Tunisian Ons Jabeur, the No 7 seed, beat Frenchwoman Oceane Dodin 6-2, 6-3 to move into the third round of Roland-Garros.
It means that all French players in the women’s singles are out of Roland-Garros in the opening week of the Grand Slam.
Jabeur, ranked No 7, will play Serb qualifier Olga Danilovic next.
The Tunisian won against Italian Lucia Bronzetti (6-4, 6-1) ahead of her victory.
In the previous round of the French Open, Dodin, ranked No 122, won against wildcard Selena Janicijevic (0-6, 6-2, 6-1).
