Roland-Garros: Isner beats Frenchman Halys in four sets to reach second round

American John Isner is through to the second round of Roland-Garros by edging out Frenchman Quentin Halys 7-6 [3], 4-6, 7-6 [1], 7-6 [6] at in Paris on Sunday.

Isner, ranked No 26 and seeded No 23, will play Frenchman Gregoire Barrere next.
