Roland-Garros: Hurkacz trounces Goffin advances to last 16

Pole Hubert Hurkacz, the No 12 seed, won against Belgian David Goffin 7-5, 6-2, 6-1 to advance to the last 16 of Roland-Garros at Stade Roland-Garros in Paris on Saturday afternoon.

Hurkacz, ranked No 13, will face the winner of the match between Norwegian Casper Ruud, the No 8 seed, and Italian Lorenzo Sonego, the No 32 seed, next.

In the previous rounds, the Pole beat Italian qualifier Giulio Zeppieri (7-5, 6-2, 7-5) and Italian Marco Cecchinato (6-1, 6-4, 6-2).

Goffin, ranked No 48, edged out Czech Jiri Lehecka (6-4, 4-6, 6-4, 6-4) and American Frances Tiafoe, the No 24 seed (3-6, 7-6 [1], 6-2, 6-4) earlier in the tournament.
