Roland-Garros: Djokovic reaches fourth round without dropping a set

Serbia’s Novak Djokovic, the No 3 seed, beat Spaniard Alejandro Davidovich Fokina, the No 29 seed, 7-6 (4), 7-6 (5), 6-2 to reach the last 16 of Roland-Garros in Paris on Friday.

Djokovic, ranked No 3 in the world, has not dropped a set en route to making the last 16 for the 14th straight year. The 36-year-old, a two-time champion in Paris, won against American Aleksandar Kovacevic (6-3, 6-2, 7-6 (1)) and Hungarian Marton Fucsovics (7-6 (2), 6-0, 6-3) ahead of his victory.

The Serb will face Peruvian Juan Pablo Varillas, who defeated Pole Hubert Hurkacz, the No 13 seed.

In the previous rounds, Davidovich Fokina, ranked No 34, won against French wildcard Arthur Fils (6-1, 4-6, 6-3, 6-3) and Frenchman Luca Van Assche (6-4, 6-3, 7-6 (6)).
