Roland-Garros: Dimitrov beats Marozsan in straight sets to reach round of 32

Bulgarian Grigor Dimitrov, the No 10 seed, reached the third round of Roland-Garros by winning against Hungarian Fabian Marozsan 6-0, 6-3, 6-4 in Paris on Thursday.

“I’m happy I finished before the rain. I’m just happy that I was able to really get back on the court, serve out the second set. Then in the third I think it was a good fight, but again, I was able to really be
clutch when I most needed it. So very, very happy overall,” Dimitrov said after this match.

Dimitrov, ranked No 10, will face Belgian qualifier Zizou Bergs next.

“He’s been having some good results,” the Bulgarian said of his next opponent. “I think for a couple of years I’ve been seeing him around the grounds. I’m not going to really get too hung up on who I’m playing. I’ve been really focusing on what I can do on my side of the net, how well can I play, what can I improve. Of course, trying to beat the weather as well a little bit.”

In the previous round of the Roland-Garros 2024, the 33-year-old Bulgarian defeated American Aleksandar Kovacevic (6-4, 6-3, 6-4).

Marozsan, ranked No 43, beat Kazakh qualifier Mikhail Kukushkin (6-2, 6-2, 6-3) in the previous round of the Roland-Garros 2024.
